“Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
Is our destined end or way;
But to act, that each tomorrow
Find us farther than today.”
Is our destined end or way;
But to act, that each tomorrow
Find us farther than today.”
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
I watched the television
And see all the confusion
Of what people talk about
Is it experience they handout
Or wisdom they want to pass
From politicians and jackass
To our poor children
Infos are all barren
Time is just to borrow
Not enjoyment and not sorrow
I turned my computer on
When I gave my girls a crayon
They drew as I surfed in Facebook
A promise of a good day they took
Just a few minutes or maybe an hour
Or until my soup turn sour
Facing the Choices of what to do
Gathering Ideas or say Adieu
To the Internet and make the day
Is our destined end or way;
I’d tell my kids what to do
As I prepare myself to go
Then I’d see their Will wouldn’t subdue
It’s their Game that they’d continue
They go in their own time
Their Joy is just sublime
I realized then what they want
It’s my love they always taunt
yell not at them and threats bestow
But to act, that each tomorrow
Each tomorrow is our today
This is what I try to convey
We make our choices
Friends are like Coaches
Choose your friends
Love your Enemies
Mistakes, you amends
Know your boundaries
To Joy make no delay
Find US farther than today!
Find US farther than today!
